Welcome to my world

I find myself often having these strange thoughts and observations and wondering if I’m the only person on the planet that thinks this way. Surely, that couldn’t be the case could it? For example, a few months ago, while outside enjoying a sandwich at a local eatery, I noticed the lonesomest of bagels perfectly positioned in the middle of a parking space. I watched as numerous people walked around it hardly giving it a second glance. I was intrigued. Did they not see the bagel? Did they not wonder like me how it got there? Was I the only one that imagined it’s narrow escape from getting devoured by jumping out of hand and rolling under the car that must have been parked there at some point—only to later be exposed to nature’s elements and the resident gang of hungry grackles? Do these same passersby also not question the origin of the lone shoe or the random sofa found on the interstate?

These are the things that keep me up at night and have inspired this blog.

My first thought would be, how long has that bagel been there? Does the ten second rule still apply? Would garden veggie cream cheese mask any sidewalk taste it has picked up or would I have to go full out peanut butter? I wonder what’s on the other side. Chances are it’s just a plain bagel. But maybe it’s an everything. Maybe. 🙂
